Ian Ross
His style is self-labeled Graffiti inspired Abstract Expressionism
Born and raised in Marin County, Ian has been painting full time since returning from college in 2003. He works without the burden of intention. His process is organic and loose; chaotic. "I build and destroy, trying to find balance with my subconscious. The relationship can be a struggle to coexist, and it can be a dance. I believe every moment is precious, every brush stroke is priceless, and there is no way to prepare for what lies ahead."
Ian has been entertaining the masses with his Live Painting experiences. Recently featured in San Francisco's 7 X 7 magazine, Ian believes his live paintings add distinctiveness to his shows. "My paintings are alive; each one grows into its own unique and separate reality.
Ian's work is currently displayed in a solo show at the Oxen Rose Gallery for the month of June. Oxen Rose is located at 448 Grove Street.
